Dr. Rodney Whatley has a BFA in Theatre from the University of Montevallo, an MFA in Theatre from Lindenwood University, and a Ph.D. in Dramatic Theory and Criticism from Florida State University. He has previously published a textbook for beginning acting classes entitled Acting: Year One. Dr. Whatley has taught theatre at Tallahassee’s Maclay School, FSU, UWF, Coastal Alabama Community College, and served as a substitute teacher in Escambia County, AL. He has been employed at Pensacola State College since 2002 and Director of Theatre since 2005.
Dr. Whatley’s productions regularly earn rankings of Superior and Excellent from the Florida College System Activities Association, where he was inducted into the Theatre Division Hall of Fame. He is married to Carrie Whatley and they live in Florida with their four dogs: Jack, Jonny, Pepper and Princess.
