For half a century the Performing Arts Department at Pensacola State College has set the stage for successful careers in performing arts by combining a full spectrum of courses with plenty of opportunities to perform.

You can choose from a comprehensive program in music and music teacher education. These two-year associate of arts degree programs transfer easily to any public university in Florida and to other universities. Early planning with the department head allows you to customize our studies at Pensacola State College according to the requirements of the college or university where you plan to attend.

This program is designed to provide students with basic skills and concepts in the field of music and to prepare the student completely for transfer to an upper-level institution. Students may choose as their principal instrument-piano, voice, organ, all woodwind instruments, all brass instruments, percussion, guitar, and strings.

Prospective students should meet with the Department Head for advising before classes begin. Students should also consult with an advisor at the college or university they plan to attend for the specific courses recommended by that institution.
